The City Nature Challenge will take place again from April 26th to 29th!

13 cities and regions in Austria are taking part in the species search competition this year!

Vienna, an extraordinarily species rich city, is also taking part again this year. The campaign is organized by the Natural History Museum Vienna, organized by Nikolaus Szucsich and Lorin Timaeus!

Join in, go out with your children, relatives and friends - observe and photograph animals, plants and fungi and report your finds on iNaturalist!

ABOL-BioBlitzes 2024 - dates

The dates of the Days of Biodiversity 2024 have been set. ABOL will be there again with BioBlitzes and will offer the opportunity to have DNA barcodes created from collected organisms.

Information on BOLD
|
|
We would like to draw the attention of all those who have already uploaded data to the international DNA barcoding platform BOLD that BOLD has recently changed the data release policy. The data will be published after 12 months - there are two deadlines per year (July 15th and December 15th). Details can be found ->HERE. We see this change as very positive, as far more data will be available in the future, which will also be available for any application. It is also an important step for BOLD to ensure continued financing, which is also in all of our interests.
