RefDat - the new ABOL project! Call to join in!
|
We are very happy to announce that the ABOL project RefDat will start in January 2024! The project, funded by the Biodiversity Fund, is intended to create DNA barcode reference data. A particular focus is on pollinators, soil and aquatic organisms and closing data gaps. We are looking for project partners who want to participate here! If you would like to provide suitable material, please contact us (abol@nhm-wien.ac.at)! We will post more details about this and other projects here in January.

An interesting call from BGE on DNA barcoding
|
We would like to point out the current call from BIOSCAN EUROPE/BGE for the creation of DNA barcode references in Europe! The deadline is January 31, 2024. Budget max. EUR 50,000, project duration until the end of April 2025. The focus is on species for which there are still few DNA barcodes available and regions that are underrepresented. Collection material and/or freshly collected material can be used. There's more information here:

Recently launched: Bulgarian Barcode of Life (BgBOL)
|
In September, the Bulgarian Barcode of Life Consortium, which is already a member of iBOL, was launched at a symposium.

BgBOL aims to strengthen the network of partners that supports DNA barcoding in Bulgaria and advances research and protection of national biodiversity. More about this -> read more
